Organisation for the Development of the Gambia River (OMVG)
Members: The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal.
Volta Basin Authority (VBA)
Members: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Togo.
Comoé–Bia–Tanoé Basin Authority (CBTBA)
Members: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Ghana.
Transboundary River Basin Management Office of the Mano River Union (TRBMO-MRU)
Members: Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone.
📌 Role of ECOWAS
Through the Water Resources Management Centre (WRMC/CGRE), ECOWAS supports:

The establishment of new Transboundary Basin Organizations (TBOs) such as CBTBA and TRBMO-MRU;

The strengthening of existing TBOs (NBA, OMVS, OMVG, VBA);

The harmonization of legal and policy frameworks, including the Guidelines on the Coordinated Management of Shared Water Resources and the Guidelines on the Development of Hydraulic Infrastructure in West Africa;

Transboundary water cooperation, in alignment with international conventions (on water, climate, and biodiversity).
